KCCA FC striker Ivan Ahimbisibwe finished the 2025/26 season with 14 goals, a tally that earned him the Uganda Premier League Golden Boot.
Ahimbisibwe finished two goals ahead of Ambrose Kigozi of Entebbe UPPC, who scored 12 goals — the same number managed by Karim Watambala of Vipers SC.
Patrick Kaddu of Kitara FC and Usama Arafat of Vipers followed closely with 10 goals apiece.
This was Ahimbisibwe’s first season at KCCA FC. Last season, while at URA FC, he scored 16 goals but lost out on the Golden Boot to Allan Okello, who netted 19 for Vipers SC.
His 14-goal tally is the third-lowest winning total in the Uganda Premier League over the last 14 seasons. Only Steven Mukwala, who won it with 13 goals for Maroons FC in 2019/20, and Allan Kayiwa, who claimed the award with 13 goals for Express FC in 2022/23, have won the accolade with fewer goals.
For a ninth straight season, Ugandan football is yet to produce a 20-goal scorer since Geoffrey Sserunkuma scored 20 goals for KCCA FC in the 2016/17 campaign.
The highest goal tally recorded in the league since 1969 remains the 45 goals scored by Andrew Fimbo Mukasa for SC Villa during the 1999 season.
Ivan Ahimbisibwe’s 14 goals
Ivan Ahimbisibwe opened his account for the season in KCCA’s second league game, scoring against SC Villa on October 10, 2025, in a double-header at Namboole as KCCA won 2-1.
His second goal came in a 4-2 victory over Calvary, where he opened the scoring.
The forward later struck a brace against former club URA FC in a 2-1 win at Lugogo before being substituted for Gavin Kizito.
He then scored the winner in a 2-1 victory over Mbarara City FC at Rwamwanja Stadium.
Ahimbisibwe also found the net against NEC FC, cancelling out Richard Basangwa’s opener, although KCCA eventually lost 3-1 after a disappointing second-half display.
In February, he opened the scoring and earned the Man of the Match award in a 2-1 victory over BUL FC at Lugogo.
He followed that up with back-to-back Man of the Match performances against Kitara FC, scoring both goals in a 2-0 win at Royals Park in Butema.
Ahimbisibwe was also on target as KCCA defeated Express FC 3-0 at Lugogo.
He scored again in a 3-0 away win over Lugazi FC in Najjembe.
The striker later opened the scoring from the penalty spot against Vipers SC at Lugogo, though the match ended 1-1 after a late equaliser from Beyuku Monsi Glodi.
He also scored in a 3-0 victory over Maroons FC, a match in which he assisted Ashraf Mugume for the opener.
In the season finale, Ahimbisibwe scored the opening goal in KCCA’s 4-1 win over Mbarara City FC at Lugogo.
It’s the third time Ivan Ahimbisibwe has reached 10 or more goals in a single campaign having bagged 10 in 2021/22 season at UPDF FC.
