Uganda Cranes attacking midfielder Allan Okello extended his superb form in Tanzania, providing two assists as Young Africans thrashed Mbeya City 6-0 on Thursday.
Okello assisted goals for Maxi Nzengeli and Mohammed Hussein in the first half of the game to set the tone for a routine win.
Okello provided the first of his two assists in the 16th minute for Nzengeli’s goal, lifting the side to a 3-0 lead.
Just at the stroke of halftime, Okello made his second when he lifted it over the Mbeya City wall to find Mohamed Hussein who found the net with a neat volleyed finish.
The midfielder has now registered six assists in his last three matches, bringing his total to eight assists and two goals since joining the club mid-season.
Prince Dube and Pacome Zouzoua scored a brace each in the deserved victory as Yanga moved to 47 points, eight above Simba who have played a game more.
The Former KCCA FC midfielder joined Yanga when he signed a two-year deal from Vipers SC in January.
He will next be in action on May 3, when Young Africans face rivals Simba SC in a highly anticipated derby.
