Hundreds of runners and fitness enthusiasts turned up for the 2026 Kyambogo Ultra Run on Saturday, May 2, at Kyambogo University.
The event attracted participants of all abilities, highlighting community spirit and endurance. This year’s edition placed added focus on inclusion, particularly support for students with disabilities at the university.
One of the country’s pioneer ultra races, the event featured 50km, 25km and 10km categories.
Tusker Lite partnered with the run for the third straight year, reinforcing its involvement in Uganda’s growing running culture through multiple events nationwide.
Tusker Lite Brand Manager Sandra Againe said the brand’s continued investment has contributed to the sport’s growth.
“We’ve seen the running culture grow in Uganda thanks to Tusker Lite,” she said, noting the brand’s long-term commitment to promoting active lifestyles.
She added that Tusker Lite’s presence at races remains consistent, citing events such as the Tusker Lite Mt Rwenzori Marathon, Virunga Marathon and Gulu City Marathon.
Againe said the brand’s role goes beyond sponsorship, focusing on enhancing the race-day experience.
“Today what we brought was an experience. We’ve elevated the mood with a lifestyle angle, including premium Tusker Lite refreshments and music,” she said.
She also called on runners to take part in the upcoming Tusker Lite Neon Run scheduled for Friday, May 8 at Circuit Lounge in Kololo.
