Kigezi HomeBoyz and Blacks Power have secured promotion to the Uganda Premier League with two matchdays to spare in the FUFA Big League.
Kigezi HomeBoyz confirmed their place in the top flight with a 2-0 victory over fellow promotion hopefuls Blacks Power at KHB Al Madinah Stadium on Sunday.
Dominic Abonga scored both goals for the Kabale-based side, finding the back of the net in the 72nd and 75th minutes to hand his team a crucial victory.
The result moved Kigezi HomeBoyz level on 51 points with Lira-based Blacks Power at the top of the standings.
With four teams set to earn promotion to the Uganda Premier League this season, both sides are now mathematically guaranteed a place in the top flight as they cannot finish outside the top four even if they lose their remaining two matches.
Their promotion was confirmed after fifth-placed Paidha Black Angels were held to a goalless draw by Onduparaka in a match where Paidha also missed a penalty.
Paidha move to 44 points and can no longer catch the two sides.
It has been a dominant season for both clubs, who have consistently remained among the leading teams throughout the campaign.
For Kigezi HomeBoyz, it marks a historic achievement as the club will play in the Uganda Premier League for the first time. The team is coached by Sadick Ssempigi, who joined the club in August 2025.
Ssempigi previously guided Mbarara City FC to promotion to the Uganda Premier League during the 2022/23 season.
Meanwhile, Blacks Power return to the top flight after two seasons away following their relegation at the end of the 2022/23 campaign when they finished second from bottom.
Ntugasaze FC moved to third place after a 2-0 victory away to Bright Stars, leapfrogging Kataka who were held to a 1-1 draw away to Kiyinda Boys.
