Four clubs, including Buganda Regional League champions Buwambo United, have earned slots to next season’s FUFA Big League.
Buwambo United secured promotion after a 4-2 victory over Blackstars FC in the return leg of their playoff at the YMCA Grounds, sealing a 5-3 aggregate win.
Coming into the decisive match level at 1-1 from the first leg, Blackstars FC struck first through Simon Katumba in the third minute.
However, Buwambo United responded almost immediately, with Innocent Ongurucho Mensar restoring parity.
The Buganda Regional League side then took control of the tie, as Patrick Wasswa and Abubakar Kalungi scored to give them a 3-1 lead before Blackstars reduced the deficit through Benon Lutaaya, who netted his 24th goal of the season.
After the break, Buwambo United managed the game effectively before Pius Mulema added a fourth goal to confirm both the 4-2 win on the day and overall promotion.
Amus Football Club also secured promotion to the 2026/27 FUFA Big League after eliminating MYDA 2-1 on aggregate in the promotion play-offs.
The Bukedea-based side held MYDA to a goalless draw in the second leg at Kongunga Playground on Saturday, having won the first leg 2-1. Mudashiri Ijosiga and Davis Busuulwa scored the decisive goals for Amus in the first leg.
Mutolere Football Club and Pakwach Young Stars completed the list of promoted teams.
Mutolere knocked out Booma 1-0 on aggregate, while Pakwach Young Stars overturned a first-leg deficit to eliminate Pajule Lions 2-1 on aggregate.
The four clubs will replace Nebbi Central, Mbale Heroes, Bright Stars and Wakiso Giants who were relegated to the Regional Leagues
Blacks Power, Ntugasaze, Kataka and Kigezi Home Boyz earned promotion to the Uganda Premier League for the 2026/27 season.
