KCCA FC target fourth straight win against Lugazi

KCCA FC will be looking to extend their winning run to four matches when they host Lugazi FC in the Uganda Premier League at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, on Wednesday.

The Kasasiro Boys head into the Matchday Eight encounter on the back of three consecutive victories, having also kept clean sheets in their last four matches.

After a slow start to the campaign, KCCA have regained their rhythm and will be eager to maintain their resurgence against a Lugazi side seeking to upset the hosts.

Head coach Brian Ssenyondo has urged his players to focus on their performance rather than the opposition as they target maximum points.

“We don’t want to dwell on the opposition so much. We want to focus more on what we can do best. If we come out and play our way, attack with the right intensity and tempo, we are the better team and can beat anyone on the day,” Ssenyondo said.

“We respect them, but we want to win so badly every game we play.”

KCCA will also look to their young players, including winger Ismail Fahad, who has impressed with his recent performances and earned a call-up to the Uganda U17 squad ahead of the FIFA U17 World Cup in November.

Fahad says the team is determined to maintain its momentum and reward the fans with another positive result.

“We are on a good run right now with three wins in a row, and nobody in the camp wants to stop here. We are going onto the pitch on Wednesday to fight for the badge, keep our momentum going, and make our fans proud,” he said.

KCCA have dominated recent meetings between the two sides, winning two and drawing two of their last four league encounters. They have scored nine goals in those matches, conceding just once.

Their most emphatic victory came in a 5-0 win over Lugazi at Lugogo in 2025.

Lugazi, meanwhile, have recorded two wins, two draws and three defeats this season. They will be hoping to improve their fortunes after failing to win their last two league matches, which ended in goalless draws against Express FC and BUL FC.

Wednesday’s encounter kicks off at 4:00 pm.
