Kololo braced for Tusker Lite Neon Run night experience

Kololo will come alive this Friday, May 8, as the Tusker Lite Neon Run lights up Circuit Lounge in a night experience blending fitness, music, and entertainment.

The event begins at 6:30 PM and will feature both 5KM and 10KM routes under the theme “Ignite the Lite.”

Unlike traditional competitive runs, the Neon Run is designed as a lifestyle event where participants move at their own pace while enjoying neon lights, DJ mixes, and on-course entertainment.

Race director and route planner Julius Nkuraija said the night setup required careful planning to ensure safety and smooth movement throughout the course.

“I understand the difference between morning and nighttime races, so there are things that have to be considered when planning the route to ensure participants move smoothly and safely through the course. The route is safe and ideal for the run, so runners should come ready to enjoy the experience,” he said.

Tusker Lite Brand Manager Sandra Againe said the event reflects a shift from performance-based running to a more relaxed social experience.

“Tusker Lite Neon Run is designed to give people a different way to experience fitness in a relaxed, social environment. It is about enjoying the run at your own pace while being part of a lively atmosphere with music, lights, and great company,” she said, adding that the event encourages participants to “sign up and grab their slot while it still lasts.”

She also noted that the night run aligns with the brand’s message of celebrating people who live boldly, pursue passions, and enjoy life responsibly.

Entertainment along the route will include live mixes from DJ KasBaby and DJ Bugy.

Registration is still open at Shs20,000, with payments made via Stanbic FlexiPay.
