Buhimba United Saints head coach Robert Mukasa has stepped down from the embattled club with three matches left before the end of the Uganda Premier League season.
Although the club has not made any official communication, SportsNation Uganda has learnt that Mukasa left the team on the eve of Wednesday’s league clash against NEC FC at Lugogo.
According to sources close to the coach, Mukasa revealed that he has not received any salary since joining the club in December last year.
The tactician also noted that this comes despite reports that the club had been sold and had received fresh financial backing.

Reports further indicate that several players have recently refused to honour matches over similar concerns, with the team also arriving late for their Uganda Premier League fixture against Express FC in Hoima.
Mukasa, formerly part of the coaching setups at URA FC, SC Villa, Gaddafi FC, and UTODA FC, and who also had coaching stints in Tanzania and Rwanda, joined Buhimba United Saints on a short-term one-year renewable contract.
During his tenure, the club managed just six points in 18 league matches, registering one victory against Maroons FC and three draws against UPDF FC (2) and Police FC.
Buhimba United Saints now face NEC FC in a must-win encounter as they battle to keep their Uganda Premier League status alive.
