•Mbarara City 1-3 SC Villa
•NEC vs Buhimba
SC Villa came from behind to beat Mbarara City 3-1 in a Uganda Premier League match at Rwamwanja Stadium in Kamwenge.
All four goals came in the second half, with Clinton Kamugisha giving the hosts the lead before a Charles Lwanga brace and Andrew Otim sealed maximum points for the Jogoos.
Kamugisha opened the scoring in the 70th minute after goalkeeper David Lukwago mishandled a free-kick that bounced awkwardly in front of him before finding the back of the net.
Villa responded immediately, with Lwanga tapping in from close range a minute later after Mbarara City goalkeeper Hussein Kafuluma spilled Otim’s header.
The visitors took the lead in the 74th minute when Patrick Jonah Kakande set up Lwanga, who fired into the top corner.
Lwanga then turned provider for the third goal after capitalising on a misplaced pass from Mbarara City defender Bernard Ndifuna to tee up Otim, who finished with a powerful strike beyond Kafuluma.
The victory moves SC Villa above Kitara into third place on 55 points, six behind league leaders Vipers.
The result also sees Villa return to winning ways after defeats to Kitara and a draw against BUL in their previous matches.
Villa will face NEC away and UPDF at home in their final two matches of the season.
Mbarara City remain 13th on the 16-team table, sitting six points above the relegation zone.
