The battle for quarterfinals slots at the USSSA football boys championship will be on the cards as the Round of 16 takes centre stage on Saturday in Lira.
Defending champions Buddo SS beat Kisozi Seed 3-0 during Friday’s Round of 32 encounter to reach the Round of 16 where they meet Kawempe Muslim.
John Bosco Ssembuzi scored in his own net before Aaron Okello and Hilary Tumwine scored one each to see Buddo through.
Kawempe Muslim on the other hand, beat Kichwamba High 2-0 and will be hoping for a stunning result against the holders.
Record winners St Mary’s Kitende made light work of Kitara SS, winning 4-0, thanks to goals from Denis Kisiriko (2), Jordan Tugume and Laurian Lwesibawa.
They meet Madina Islamic in a Wakiso derby after the side eliminated Aiden College thanks to a 1-0 win.
East African champions Bukedea Comprehensive South eased past Bristol SS thanks to a 3-0 win, with Simon Wanyama (2) and Wycliff Ssentongo scoring the brace.
They will take on Greenlight Islamic, who elimimated Kibuli SS after penalty shootouts, at the Round of 16.
