Kawempe Muslim have been crowned champions of the 2025/26 FUFA Women Super League after winning the title on a dramatic final day of the season.
Kawempe came into the final matchday with the title not in their hands, sitting a point behind leaders She Corporate.
Hosting Olila, they needed a win and hoped She Corporate slip at home against She Maroons at Njeru. And they got both.
Ayub Khalifa’s charges picked a 3-1 win over Olila thanks to goals from Jovia Nakagolo, Latifah Nakasi also and Agnes Nabukenya while Mary Lotyang’s goal proved to be inconsequential.
She Corporate who needed a win to take the title, were frustrated by She Maroons in a game that ended goalless at Njeru.
This is a season She Corporate will hope to forget easily after suffering a 1-0 defeat away to Uganda Martyrs High School WFC in the penultimate game of the season.
Consequently, Kawempe Muslim finish on 52 points while She Corporate slip to second on 51 points.
It’s their second title, having won it in 2023/24 season, since this league was created in 2019/20 season.
But it’s their sixth overall in top flight division having won the opening four season while it was still called the Elite Women Football League.
