URA Ladies FC were crowned 2025/26 FUFA Women Elite League champions after edging Jinja United WFC 1-0 in the playoff final at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku on Saturday.
Belinda Nabawanuka scored the only goal of the match in the 31st minute, calmly finishing from close range after being played through by Elizabeth Nakigozi.
The two sides started cautiously before URA Ladies gradually took control and found the breakthrough just past the half-hour mark.
Jinja United responded strongly after the restart in search of an equaliser, but URA Ladies remained solid at the back to preserve their lead and complete an unbeaten league campaign.
Both teams had already secured promotion to the 2026/27 FUFA Women Super League after topping their respective groups.
URA Ladies won the Elizabeth Group, while Jinja United finished top of the Victoria Group, with the playoff deciding the overall league champions.
Vanessa Namazzi of URA Ladies was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player, while teammate Esther Nantongo claimed the Golden Glove award.
Jinja United’s Mary Jane Ithungu finished as the Golden Boot winner, and URA Ladies also received the Fair Play Award.
