FUFA Women Super League side Kampala Queens have confirmed the departure of assistant coach Sharon Kizza following the expiry of her contract.
Kizza leaves the club after two successful seasons during which she served as assistant to head coach Asefa Firew Haile Gabreal.
Her departure comes just a week after Kampala Queens crowned an impressive campaign by winning the FUFA Women’s Cup with victory over Kawempe Muslim.
In a statement, the club revealed that Kizza opted not to renew her contract after the conclusion of the 2024/25 season.
“During her time with us, Coach Sharon worked with great professionalism, commitment and passion, playing a key role in building a strong and competitive team. She contributed immensely to the club’s success including winning the FUFA Women Super League and the FUFA Women’s Cup,” the club said.
Kizza played an important role in Kampala Queens’ technical bench as the club established itself among the country’s top women’s football teams, helping them secure the league as well a season before.
Second assistant coach Shafic Mutebi, who returned to Kampala Queens in March for his third spell at the club, could be in line for promotion, although the club is yet to announce further changes to its coaching structure.
