•Amus College (4)0-0(1) St Mary’s Kitende
•Kyandondo 0-1 Bukedea Comprehensive
Amus College have eliminated record champions St Mary’s Kitende to book a place in the final of the USSSA Boys’ Football Championship.
Amus will face Bukedea Comprehensive, who edged Kyadondo SS 1-0 in the other semifinal.
Coached by Richard Malinga, Amus needed a penalty shootout to progress after a goalless draw in regulation time. Their task became more difficult after Pius Oyirwoth was sent off for a second yellow card moments before the final whistle.
Goalkeeper Chagama Usama emerged the hero, saving the opening two Kitende penalties from Collins Ochatre and Marvin Kabiito as Amus secured a 4-1 shootout victory.
Mathias Kasadha, Ivan Okello, Roy Olara and Iddi Abdul Rashid all converted their spot-kicks to spark celebrations at the Dr Obote College playground.
In the other semifinal, Patrick Ssembusi’s strike proved decisive as Bukedea saw off Kyadondo SS, the side that had eliminated defending champions Buddo in the quarterfinals.
The final will be played on Sunday, with a new champion set to be crowned.
