Calvary FC and Buhimba United Saints have been relegated from the Uganda Premier League following the penultimate matchday of the season.
The two bottom-placed sides failed to win their respective matches, ending their hopes of survival ahead of the final round of fixtures.
Calvary were held to a 1-1 draw away to UPDF in Bombo, with the Army side securing the point they needed to confirm safety.
Buhimba United Saints were already on the brink of relegation before matchday 29 after failing to honour their previous fixture against NEC FC, a situation that resulted in a points deduction.
However, FUFA is yet to make a final ruling on the matter.
Following a 2-0 defeat away to Mbarara City on Tuesday, Buhimba remained bottom of the table with 15 points, seven points adrift of safety.
Even if they win their two remaining matches, including the forfeited game against NEC FC, they cannot escape the bottom two.
Buhimba United Saints nearly forfeited a second consecutive match after arriving late for their clash against Mbarara City at Rwamwanja Stadium, delaying kickoff by more than 20 minutes.
Calvary sit on 18 points, four behind 14th-placed UPDF, who have 22 points with one match left to play.
Both relegated sides were promoted from the FUFA Big League last season, but their debut top-flight campaigns have ended in relegation after difficult seasons.
Entebbe UPPC, the third team promoted last season, are sixth on the table with 48 points.
This season, four teams will be promoted from the FUFA Big League to the Uganda Premier League, with Kigezi Homeboyz and Blacks Power already securing the top two spots.
