•KCCA vs Kitara – Lugogo, 8pm
KCCA and Kitara will hope to stay in the Uganda Premier League title contention when they face off on Friday night under Lugogo floodlights.
For KCCA, they come into this reeling from a poor run that include Uganda Cup elimination against URA FC at Nakivubo.
Most recently, they were beaten 1-0 by SC Villa at Kadiba to slip up to fourth on the Uganda Premier League table.
They currently start the day seven points adrift of leaders Vipers who collected a point off SC Villa in their last game.
The Kasasiro boys will be without Umar Lutalo who continues rehabilitation after a knee injury while James Mubeezi, Derrick Nsibambi and Bright Anukani are also out.
Kitara FC on the other hand, still have a season to be proud of – Second in the league and at the semifinals of the Uganda Cup.
A win against KCCA will see Kitara cut Vipers’ lead at the top to just two points with six games to go.
And facing Vipers still in the semifinals of the Uganda Cup, Kitara will remain optimistic that they can overhaul the Venoms in at least one competition.
Wasswa Bbosa’s side has mainly banked on defence, they have conceded 13 goals in the league, only SC Villa (12) have let in fewer.
They have not conceded a goal in their last three league matches – beating Mbarara City (1-]) and Buhimba (4-0) before a goalless draw against Vipers at Kitende.
The reverse fixture in the first round ended 1-1, with Kitara conceding a late Sharif Ssengendo equaliser after going ahead in the fourth minute through Emmanuel Alex Wasswa.
