•KCCA 1-0 Kitara
KCCA FC kept their fading Uganda Premier League title hopes alive with a hard fought 1-0 victory over Kitara on Friday night at Lugogo.
Joel Sserunjogi’s strike proved the difference in a match that was short on entertainment.
Sserunjogi, after receiving the ball from Saidi Mayanja, unleashed a powerful strike from outside the box that found the bottom corner, giving KCCA the lead in the 43rd minute.
Kitara huffed and puffed in the second stanza but could not find a lifeline despite throwing on strikers Shaban Muhamad and Edson Agondeze.

Kitara’s best chance at goal came in the first half, with KCCA needing Sammy Ssebaduka who rose highest to head Living Kabon’s goal-bound corner off the line.
Jasper Aheebwa rattled the crossbar from a distance while Crispus Asiki fired over from inside the area with goalkeeper Mutwalib Mugolofa beaten.
KCCA on the other hand, had Saidi Mayanja’s close range effort kept out by Meddie Kibirige’s reflex save while Filbert Obenchan’s header off Herbert Achayi’s corner bounce off and over the goal frame.

The victory is a sigh of relief for KCCA and the co-coaches Brian Ssenyondo and Jackson Magera, who recently lost to SC Villa and knocked out of Uganda Cup by URA FC.
KCCA FC move second to 48 points, four adrift of leaders Vipers (52) with the two yet to face off at Lugogo.
Kitara, who are already in Uganda Cup semifinals, slip to third place with 47 points.
What next – KCCA visit Entebbe UPPC at Bugonga on April 21 while Kitara welcome Calvary in Hoima on April 24.
