•Uganda 4-1 Zimbabwe
(Agg: 6-1)
Uganda has progressed to the second round of the 2026 African U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers after easing past Zimbabwe.
The Teen Cranes beat Zimbabwe 4-1 in return leg at FUFA Stadium in Kadiba, to progress on a 6-1 aggregate victory.
Sheryl Botes’ side won the first leg 2-0 on the road and even a 1-0 defeat would have been enough to see them through.
But the girls were not settling for less, putting up a dominant display in front a jubilant crowd including FUFA President Moses Magogo.

Brenda Nassaka, Immaculate Acen, Giovanna Aketogwanga and Terry Mora Oseko were on target each for the Teen Cranes while Shantel Gwenhamo brought one back for the Visitors.
Nassaka opened the scores just after 12 minutes, racing onto a neat through ball by Shadiah Nabirye.
Nabirye set up another, finding Acen who doubled the lead minutes after missing from the spot.

Aketogwanga made it three before Gwenhamo brought one back for Zimbabwe at the stroke of halftime.
Mora scored the only goal in the second stanza, coming off the bench to bundle in from close range after a good cross from Grace Kawiino.
Uganda’s only concern was with goalkeeper Sharifah Kizito Namuwaya who was taken off hurt following a collision.
Overall, it was a dominant and deserved victory for Uganda who will face Kenya in the second round after the East African neighbours eliminated Namibia with a 7-1 aggregate victory.
The second round will be played between May 22-24 and May 29-31 for the first and second legs respectively.

A place at the decisive third round will be at stake as fight for the four available slots to the FIFA U17 World Cup later this year in Morocco intensify.
