Uganda Cranes striker Denis Omedi has completed a move to Kenyan champions Gor Mahia FC ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The club confirmed the signing on Friday, describing Omedi as one of East Africa’s finest forwards as they strengthen their squad for the new campaign.
Omedi joins Gor Mahia from Rwandan giants APR FC, where he spent the last season after leaving Uganda Premier League side Kitara FC.
The striker rose to prominence during the 2023/24 Uganda Premier League season, scoring 15 league goals to finish among the division’s leading scorers and helping Kitara enjoy an impressive debut top-flight campaign.

He also played a key role as Kitara lifted their first-ever Uganda Cup before scoring twice in the CAF Confederation Cup.
At international level, Omedi established himself as a regular for the Uganda national football team, scoring crucial goals during the country’s successful qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and also finding the net at the finals.
The forward also gained global recognition after his spectacular rabona goal against KCCA FC earned nominations for the 2024 FIFA Puskás Award and the CAF Goal of the Year Award, finishing third in the Puskás Award voting.
Gor Mahia believe the 30-year-old’s experience in domestic, continental and international football will strengthen coach Charles Akonnor’s squad as they target success in the Kenyan Premier League, domestic cup competitions, the CECAFA Club Championship and the CAF Champions League.
