The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has announced the key dates for the 2026/27 football season, with the Uganda Premier League set to kick off on August 28, 2026.
The new campaign will begin 98 days after the conclusion of the 2025/26 season, which saw Vipers SC crowned league champions.
Ahead of the league kickoff, the FUFA Super 8 tournament, featuring the top eight teams from the previous season (pending confirmation), will be played between August 1 and August 16.
The FUFA Super Cup, contested between the reigning Uganda Premier League champions and the Stanbic Uganda Cup winners, is scheduled for August 23.
This year’s Super Cup will pit league champions Vipers SC against Kitara FC, who secured the Uganda Cup title after defeating SC Villa in the final played on Saturday at Njeru.
FUFA also released the club licensing roadmap ahead of the new season. The primary registration window will open on July 1, while physical inspection visits to clubs will be conducted between July 1 and July 15.
The deadline for clubs to submit their licensing documents has been set for July 15.
FUFA will announce the final list of licensed clubs eligible to participate in the 2026/27 season on July 27, before releasing the league fixtures a day later on July 28.
