Allan Ssewanyana’s reputation as “Musajja wa Bwiino” is taking a serious hit after yet another bold FIFA World Cup prediction ended in disappointment, leaving social media in stitches.
The former Makindye West Member of Parliament confidently tipped France to brush aside Spain and book a place in the World Cup final.
Speaking during a TikTok live hosted by Babadi, Ssewanyana declared:
“France is already in the final, they are beating Spain! And in a convincing way.
“Yes, I know Spain has had a good record over France in the past but France will be winning this one.”
Instead, Spain cruised to a 2-0 victory through Mikel Oyarzabal and Pedro Porro to reach the World Cup final, leaving Ssewanyana’s prediction in tatters.
It was another miss after he had earlier predicted Portugal would lift the trophy by beating France in the final. Portugal never made it that far, crashing out to Spain in the quarterfinals.
Following Portugal’s exit, Ssewanyana laughed off his prediction, saying, “Ronaldo has also brought me problems.”
Social media wasted no time turning him into the tournament’s biggest casualty.
One user, Mwesigwa, joked that Ssewanyana “should be arrested again” for his predictions, while Legal Corner claimed that anything Ssewanyana predicts is almost guaranteed to happen the opposite way.
Marvin Kasujja said the former sports journalist is yet to get a single prediction right at the tournament.
Denis Mawejje humorously pleaded with him to predict President Yoweri Museveni to win the next election, hoping fate would do the opposite.
Elgran advised him to retire from football predictions for now, while Kamara Arthur jokingly called for the CDF to arrest him.
Talik the Great quipped that Ssewanyana had switched to marijuana, while another commenter said he had replaced analysis with emotions. Others joked that he no longer had the “bwiino” that earned him his famous nickname.
Joram summed it up by saying, “He no longer gives bwiino, he gives poison,” while Mark Owori joked that Ssewanyana “left Bwiino in prison.”
Amid the banter, Mayot offered a calmer view, reminding people that predictions are simply opinions and are never guaranteed to come true.
Before politics, Ssewanyana built a name as one of Uganda’s best-known sports journalists, earning the nickname “Musajja wa Bwiino” for his football knowledge.
He later served as KCCA FC vice chairman, sat on the Uganda Premier League board, founded Katwe United and eventually entered Parliament representing Makindye West.
For now, though, football fans appear to have given him a new title on social media: the man whose predictions are better used as reverse indicators.
