Kampala Queens FC defeated Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC 2-0 to win the 2026 FUFA Women’s Cup final at FUFA Stadium, Kadiba, on Sunday.
Joanita Ainembabazi and Kamiyat Naigaga were on target as Kampala Queens secured their first-ever FUFA Women’s Cup title.
Ainembabazi broke the deadlock with a stunning bicycle kick after Kawempe goalkeeper Saidat Namwanje spilled a long-range effort into her path.
Kawempe Muslim responded strongly after the restart and came close to finding an equaliser in the 86th minute, but Agnes Nabukenya sent her effort inches over the bar.
Kampala Queens sealed the victory in added time when Naigaga was played through on goal, rounded the goalkeeper and slotted into an empty net.
The result denied Kawempe Muslim a domestic double after they had already clinched the FUFA Women’s Super League title.
Kawempe had looked impressive throughout the competition, including a commanding 6-0 aggregate victory over defending champions Amus College in the semifinals.
The Women’s Cup title continues to elude Ayub Khalifa’s side, who also finished runners-up last season after losing the final to Amus College.
For Kampala Queens, the triumph provides a perfect response to an underwhelming league campaign. They reached the final after eliminating Lady Doves with a convincing 4-0 aggregate win in the semifinals and now celebrate their maiden FUFA Women’s Cup crown.
