KCCA FC striker Ivan Ahimbisibwe has completed a permanent transfer to Iraqi Stars League side Zakho Sports Club, the Lugogo-based club has confirmed.
The forward was initially unveiled in June but the move is said to have hit a dead end!
Before, KCCA had negotiations with Tanzania’s Azam FC before the negotiations also hit a dead end.
Ahimbisibwe, nicknamed “The Hunter,” leaves the Kasasiro Boys after just one season at Lugogo, having established himself as one of the league’s most prolific forwards.
The striker made 27 Uganda Premier League appearances during the 2025/26 season, scoring 14 goals and providing three assists.
His impressive campaign saw him finish as the UPL’s top scorer and earn the Golden Boot, continuing KCCA FC’s long-standing tradition of producing league-leading scorers.
Ahimbisibwe joined KCCA ahead of the 2025/26 campaign and quickly became a key figure in the club’s attack, with his finishing and work rate playing a major role in his successful season.
He now becomes the latest Ugandan player to make the move to Iraq as he begins a new chapter with Zakho Sports Club.
KCCA FC has thanked Ahimbisibwe for his contribution during his time at the club and wished him success in his new adventure.
