Uganda Premier League side Lugazi FC have completed the signing of winger and right-back Frank Mulimi from SC Villa on a two-year contract.
The versatile player joins Abbey Kikomeko’s squad ahead of the 2026/27 season and has immediately linked up with the team for pre-season preparations.
Speaking after sealing the move, Mulimi expressed his excitement about joining the Leaders.
“I am pleased with this move. I am impressed with the project here and I love the organisation at this club. I have come to work harder because I believe that’s the only way this team can get better results,” he said.
The former SC Villa player also believes his familiarity with the squad and technical team will help him settle quickly.
“I am familiar with most of the players here, including the coach, and that will make it easy for me to hit the ground running.”
Mulimi arrives at Lugazi with valuable Uganda Premier League experience, having previously featured for Gaddafi FC—now Entebbe UPPC FC—and SC Villa.
During his five-year spell at Gaddafi, he played a key role in the club’s rise from regional football to the FUFA Big League and eventually the Uganda Premier League between 2019 and 2024.
He joined SC Villa ahead of last season, making 10 league appearances and scoring once for the record league champions.
The 24-year-old also developed through Jinja Progressive Academy (JIPRA) and Iganga Parents Secondary School (IPA) before breaking into senior football.
Mulimi becomes the latest addition to Lugazi FC’s squad as the club strengthens ahead of the new Uganda Premier League campaign, which kicks off in late August.
