The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has lined up two international friendly matches for the Uganda Cranes in Marrakech, Morocco during the June 2026 FIFA international window.
The Cranes will face Tanzania on June 5 before taking on Madagascar on June 8.
These friendlies will serve as part of Uganda’s preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which will be jointly hosted by Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.
Uganda Cranes have also learnt their opponents for the AFCON 2027 qualifying campaign, having been drawn in Group H alongside Tunisia, Libya and Mauritania.
Like co-hosts Kenya and Tanzania, Uganda will participate in the qualifiers, although their place at the final tournament is already guaranteed as hosts.
FUFA says the matches will provide the technical team with an opportunity to assess the squad and strengthen competitiveness ahead of the AFCON 2027 qualifiers, as well as future CAF and FIFA competitions.
The Cranes were inactive during the previous international window in March after citing safety concerns.
Two friendly matches against Bahrain and Mauritania had been scheduled to take place in Turkey, but the games were cancelled due to political instability in the region.
