Uganda Cranes to Face Zanzibar in ZFF Centenary Match

Uganda Cranes will take on Zanzibar in a special international match on Thursday, June 11, 2026, as part of the celebrations marking 100 years of the Zanzibar Football Federation (ZFF).

The match will be played at the newly built Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar, with kick-off scheduled for 8:15pm East Africa Time.

The match is one of the highlights of the ZFF centenary celebrations as Zanzibar marks a century of football administration.

The invitation was accepted by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), giving locally based players another opportunity to represent the country on the international stage.

It comes after Uganda Cranes matches against Madagascar and Tanzania scheduled in Morocco were canceled last week due to Ebola concerns.

Head coach Paul Put has named a 22-man squad made up entirely of players based in Uganda. Kenneth Semakula, who is currently unattached, is the only player in the squad without a club.

The team will start preparations on Monday, June 8, with a training session at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
