Uganda Cranes attacker Allan Okello continued his impressive scoring form for Young Africans S.C. on Wednesday.
The former Vipers SC attacking midfielder scored a brace, although Yanga fell 3-2 to Dodoma Jiji FC in the Tanzania Mainland Premier League.
Okello opened the scoring just two minutes into the match, turning home from close range after a neat delivery from Maxi Nzengeli.
The hosts leveled through an own goal by captain Bakari Mwamnyeto, who inadvertently turned David Mwanakibuta’s cross into his own net, before Okello restored Yanga’s lead with his second of the evening.
The Uganda Cranes forward beat the offside trap after being played through by Nzengeli and finished brilliantly to make it 2-1.
However, Dodoma Jiji staged a late comeback in the second half, with goals from Mwanakibuta and Junior Waziri handing Yanga their first league defeat in 42 matches, a run that stretches since losing to TRA United in 2024!
Despite the loss, Yanga remain top of the table with 54 points. Simba SC can cut the gap to just one point if they beat Mashujaa FC on Thursday, with seven matches left to play.

Okello who also scored a double against Coastal Union in his previous game, has now registered seven goals and seven assists in the Tanzania Premier League this season.
