Rezlife Saints defeated Victoria University Crocs 79–57 in the National Basketball League on Friday at Lugogo, securing their first victory of the second round.
The Saints had previously fallen to City Oilers and UCU Canons, making for a slow start to the second round.
After edging a tight first half 34–27, the Saints took control in the third quarter with a 20–10 run to open up a 17-point lead, which they maintained for the rest of the game.
Michael Otieno led all scorers with 20 points, while Edrine Ekau and Kevin Moru added 17 and 10 points respectively in the win.
For Victoria Crocs, Deng Gai scored 12 points, with Aaron John Eboyu and Chuol Nyuot contributing 10 points each.
The result sees Rezlife Saints complete a double over Victoria Crocs, having won the first-round meeting 75–59.
It marks the Saints’ 10th victory of the season, in what is shaping up to be their strongest campaign in the top flight.
For Victoria Crocs, it is their eighth loss of the season and their second defeat in the second round so far.
