The I&M Bank Katogo Golf Series 2026 returns this Saturday, May 2, at Entebbe Club—this time with a cross-border edge.
Breaking away from its usual quarterly schedule, the event doubles as the return leg of the “Migingo Skirmishes,” a Uganda vs Kenya golf showdown.
The concept was introduced in 2024 by I&M Bank Regional CEO Kihara Maina after attending the Katogo Golf Series in Entebbe. Impressed by the format, he invited organizers to take the event to Kenya’s Limuru Country Club. That idea materialized in November 2024, when over 60 Ugandan amateur golfers traveled to Limuru for the inaugural cross-border edition.
Now, the rivalry shifts back to Entebbe. By press time, 59 Kenyan golfers—mostly from Limuru—had confirmed participation.
Katogo Captain Elly Mukasa, who led the Ugandan side in Kenya, says the focus goes beyond competition.
“We’re happy to host our Kenyan brothers and sisters. This is more than golf—it’s about friendship and shared passion. We’ll compete hard, but the spirit of brotherhood comes first,” he said.
Saturday’s action will feature a match play team contest—Katogo vs Limuru & Co.—alongside a Stableford competition for the rest of the field.
Kenya claimed the first leg in 2024 with 399 points against Uganda’s 343. This weekend, Uganda will look to use home advantage to level the series.
I&M Bank’s Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, Annette Nakiyaga, says the event has grown into a key platform for regional connection.
“The Migingo Skirmishes opened the door for cross-border events in this series. We’ve since brought together golfers from across the region, and we’re continuing to grow and innovate,” she said.
The hole-in-one prize remains a Mitsubishi Outlander Sport.
Off the course, the event wraps up with a 19th hole experience featuring the Janzi Band, with a relaxed denim-themed dress code.
The 2026 I&M Bank Katogo Golf Series is supported by Johnnie Walker, Victoria Motors, GA Insurance, RwandAir, Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort and Spa, Kampala Serena Hotel, Fenon Events, Goldman’s Luxury, NBS Sport, Case Hospital, and Time Cop Security.
