Uganda Cubs Squad for U17 AFCON Named

Uganda Cubs head coach Laryea Kingstone has named his squad for the AFCON U-17 tournament in Morocco.

Two players – Adrian Mukwanga (Vipers JT) and John Brian Owino (Express FC JT) – have been retained from the Cubs team that competed at the U17 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Uganda is in Group B alongside giants Ivory Coast, Cameroon and DR Congo.

The tournament runs from 18 May to 2 June 2026.

The top two teams in each group will reach the quarter-finals and qualify for the FIFA U-17 World Cup, with two more teams advancing through playoffs.

The Cubs depart on Saturday and will camp in Casablanca, where they will play friendly matches against Mozambique on 5 May and Mali on 9 May as part of their preparations.
