The UPL Table:

The fate of the 2025/26 Uganda Premier League may have been decided at both ends of the table following the conclusion of matchday 27.
League leaders Vipers were held to a 1-1 draw by URA, and many thought the result could prove influential in the title race. However, Kitara failed to capitalize — just as KCCA had done previously — losing 1-0 at home to NEC and missing the chance to cut the gap to three points.
As it stands, Vipers (60 points) sit five points clear of KCCA (55) and six ahead of Kitara (54).
At the bottom, Calvary continued to show signs of life, beating Police 1-0. They entered matchday 27 facing possible relegation if they lost and other results went against them.
But the victory — only their third of the season — lifted them off the foot of the table into 15th place, leapfrogging Buhimba, who lost at home to Express.
Calvary remain four points adrift of safety and, alongside Buhimba, will likely need a miracle to survive.
Leading scorers
•Ivan Ahimbisibwe (KCCA) – 13
•Ambrose Kigozi (UPPC) – 11
•Karim Watambala (Vipers) – 10
•Frank Ssebuufu (Villa) – 9
•Patrick Kaddu (Kitara) – 9
•Usama Arafat (Vipers) – 9
•Bedia Djuma Ikamba (Police) – 8
With 13 goals, two more than Ambrose Kigozi of Entebbe UPPC, Ivan Ahimbisibwe (KCCA) appears to be pulling away in the golden boot race.
The striker scored one of KCCA’s three goals in their 3-0 victory over Maroons at Lugogo and will fancy his chances of adding to his tally in the remaining fixtures against UPDF (A), URA (A) and Mbarara City (H).
Kigozi, meanwhile, failed to get on the scoresheet as UPPC defeated UPDF 2-0 at Bugonga, a result that may have dented his chances of winning the golden boot. He still has three matches left to make a statement — against Maroons (A), Police (A) and BUL (H).
Karim Watambala has now gone three matches without scoring. While that is not necessarily poor form for a midfielder, it is notable considering the high standards he set earlier in the campaign. Fixtures against Police, Maroons in Luzira and Express at home still offer him opportunities to add to his tally.
Last season, the golden boot was won by his former teammate Allan Okello with an impressive 19 goals.
