All set for Chaapa League season 11 finale

The Chaapa League Season 11 finale will take place on Saturday at Mbarara High School, bringing together teams, fans and alumni under the theme “Back to the Kraal.”

The league caravan departed Kampala on Friday, with participants gathering at Black Panther in Bukoto before travelling to Mbarara.

Players, supporters and former students arrived in Chaapa colours, turning the departure point into a lively gathering before the teams were flagged off by alumni leaders and Uganda Police officials.

The Season 11 finale will feature an eight-team knockout competition, with the quarter-final winners advancing to the semi-finals and eventually battling for the championship.

Yobo Yobo will face CHOGM FC, SC Rwizi will take on Dingiswayo FC, See Far will meet Bulls OldTimers, while CF Burdizo will face Rugabo City in the Guinness-powered quarter-finals.

The finale will also feature a women’s fixture between Holistics, the Maryhill High School alumni team, and a select side from the Maryhill Old Girls Association.

Guinness, the league sponsor, is also set to add to the experience beyond the football.

Denise Paula Nazzinda, Senior Brand Manager at Uganda Breweries Limited, said the aim is to create an enjoyable experience for everyone attending the finale.

“We want everyone who comes to the finale to enjoy great football, great company and great Guinness moments. Most importantly, we want to make it a Lovely Day for a Guinness,” Nazzinda said.

The Season 11 end-of-season awards will also be presented, recognising outstanding performances and achievements across the campaign.

The awards categories include Most Improved Team, Identity Award, Smartest Team, Best Goalkeeper, Best Defender, Best Midfielder and Best Forward.
