Shorthanded JKL Lady Dolphins returned to National Basketball League action with a deserved 79–61 victory over Miracle Eaglets on Wednesday at the Indoor Arena in Lugogo.
The defending champions had earlier threatened to pull out of the league, with club president Fredricks Freedom Owora raising concerns on Saturday.
The dispute stemmed from FUBA’s refusal to postpone their games despite the club missing a number of players.
Matters escalated later that day when JKL forfeited their fixture against KIU Rangers at UCU in Mukono following a lengthy delay in tip-off caused by a morning downpour.
This week, the club subsequently wrote to FUBA protesting the walkover awarded to KIU before confirming their commitment to complete the season.

Fast forward to Wednesday, JKL had just seven players available, including new signing Angee Melinda Laker.
Despite the limited squad, they raced to a 31–15 lead after the first quarter and maintained control for the rest of the game.
Tamasha Nsubuga starred with a game-high 29 points on 9-of-18 shooting, while Flavia Oketcho and Rita Imanishimwe contributed 11 and 15 points respectively.
Caroline Nakato scored 18 points for Miracle Eaglets, while Winfred Akello posted a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds, but their efforts were not enough as Miracle suffered their seventh defeat of the season.
The win marks JKL’s eighth in 13 games this season, although both of their losses to KIU came via forfeiture.
However, all is not fully settled for JKL. The team is still missing key players, and head coach Henry Malinga will be aware that tougher tests lie ahead.
