Defending champions JKL Lady Dolphins face Nabisunsa in a must-win National Basketball League match on Wednesday evening at the YMCA Court in Wandegeya.

JKL head into their penultimate regular-season game with their playoff hopes hanging in the balance.

The three-time reigning champions currently sit ninth on the table, one place outside the top eight playoff positions.

The Lady Dolphins have registered 10 wins and eight losses this season, excluding the walkover defeat to KIU Rangers, and know that victory against Nabisunsa is crucial before they take on UCU Lady Canons in their final regular-season game on Friday.

It has been a disappointing campaign for a side that has dominated the league in recent years. Their struggles have been attributed to the departure and absence of key players, including Hope Akello and Evelyn Nakiyingi, who left the club.

Brenda Ekone has not featured in the second round after surviving a robbery incident, while Rita Imanishimwe is reportedly out for the remainder of the season due to personal reasons.

JKL come into the game on the back of four consecutive defeats against Pearl Queens, Magic Stormers, KCCA Leopards and JT Lady Jaguars.

However, they will be confident of ending that losing run against a Nabisunsa side that has already been relegated from the top flight.
