The 2026/27 Premier League season kicks off this weekend, with Guinness Matchday set to bring live football and fan experiences to Uganda.

The campaign starts on Friday, August 21, when defending champions Arsenal host newly promoted Coventry City at the Emirates Stadium.

In Uganda, fans will gather at Millennium Grounds in Lugogo, Kampala, on Friday and Saturday, while Rwenzori Square in Kasese will host the season opener on Friday.

The venues will feature live Premier League action, entertainment and fan activities as Guinness, the Official Beer of the Premier League, partners with Coca-Cola for the opening weekend.

“Across Uganda, we want fans to enjoy the beautiful game wherever they are, and with a Guinness in hand,” said Denise Nazzinda, Guinness Brand Manager at Uganda Breweries.

“Through our Matchday experiences, we are creating more opportunities for fans to come together, share the passion and make every matchday a Lovely Day for a Guinness.”

The Matchday experience will continue throughout the season, with activations planned at different outlets across the country.

“Last season was a great success and showed us just how passionate Ugandan fans are about the Premier League,” Nazzinda said.

“This season, we are going EXTRA. We want to build on what we delivered last season and give fans even bigger and more memorable experiences throughout the campaign.”

Saturday’s fixtures include Newcastle United against Liverpool, Manchester United against Hull City, Tottenham Hotspur against Brentford and Manchester City against Bournemouth.

For Ugandan fans, the new Premier League season will bring another campaign of football, rivalry and banter, with Guinness Matchday promising to add more to the matchday experience.
