Paidha Black Angels Overcome Kigezi Homeboyz

Paidha Black Angels have improved their promotional chances after beating Kigezi Homeboyz 2-0 in the FUFA Big League match played on Thursday at Barokoro stadium.

Jacob Opar and David Obedmoth scored a goal each as the hosts claimed maximum points.

The win sends Paidha Black Angels into the promotion places, now third with 40 points after 25 games.

The top four teams at the end of the season are promoted to the Uganda Premier League next season.

Paidha have been in trenches since they were relegated from UPL six years ago, in 2019.

Then, they had their relegation with four games to spare, falling 2-0 against KCCA who scored through Muzamir Mutyaba and Patrick Kaddu as they slipped to their 18th defeat in 26 matches.

They have to collect positive results in their remaining games against Bright Stars (H), Kiyinda Boys (A), Onduparaka (A), Young Elephant (H) and Nebbi Central (A).

The defeat, fourth of the season, leaves Kigezi Homeboyz in second place with 42 points, with five games to end the season.
