Black Pirates finished top of the standings at the end of the regular season in the ongoing 2026 Rugby Premier League.
The defending champions made light work of Walukuba, cruising to a 57-06 victory at Kings Park in Bweyogerere.
Tries from Haruna Muhammad, Alex Aturinda and Sydney Gongodyo — with Timothy Kisiga converting Gongodyo’s effort — handed Pirates a 17-0 lead at halftime.
Aturinda completed his hat-trick with two more tries in the second half, while Roy Kizito, Haruna and John Paul Atim also crossed the line in an emphatic win.
Celebrations continued after the final whistle as the team honoured long-serving star Conrad Wanyama, who was making his 150th appearance for the club.
Attention now turns to the playoffs, where Pirates will once again face Walukuba after the Jinja-based side finished eighth in the standings.
KCB Kobs edged Buffaloes 27-23 to secure second place and will face Impis in the quarterfinals.
The bottom four teams — Rhinos, Hippos, Kakira Simba and Warriors — will battle for survival in the relegation playoffs.
The quarterfinal playoffs begin on May 15, while the relegation playoff round will be played in June.
