Referee Asadu Ssemeere has been handed a three-month suspension from officiating, FUFA has confirmed.
The decision follows his failure to properly apply the Laws of the Game during a Uganda Premier League match between Vipers SC and Kitara FC on April 10 at Kitende.
The match ended goalless. However, it was marred by an ugly incident in the 25th minute when goalkeeper Kibirige collected the ball but appeared to kick an oncoming Milton Karisa, who was also contesting for it.
“The Referee Disciplinary Panel (RDP) found that the referee saw the incident but misapplied the Laws of the Game,” part of the statement reads.

Goalkeeper Kibirige has also been sanctioned over the same incident.
The FUFA Disciplinary Panel handed him a two-match ban, along with a suspended fine of Shs500,000 for misconduct arising from the incident.
The suspended fine means Kibirige will only pay the amount if he commits a similar offense in the near future.
He will miss Kitara FC’s next two league matches against NEC FC and Express FC.

FUFA is yet to comment on a separate incident involving the two clubs during their Uganda Cup semi-final clash on Sunday at Butema, where Jasper Aheebwa made a poor challenge on Karisa.
