KCCA Leopards will be seeking revenge when they face JT Lady Jaguars in the National Basketball League tonight at the YMCA court in Wandegeya.
The Leopards lost the first-round meeting 47-28 back in February in a low-scoring contest where KCCA managed just five, six and seven points respectively in the opening three quarters.
Uwineza Ninete and Susan Aanyu were KCCA’s top scorers with seven points each. KCCA also struggled from long range, making just one of 26 three-point attempts, while their bench contributed only seven points.
However, KCCA have since improved and come into this fixture on an impressive run, with their only setback being a walkover loss to Miracle Ravens.
They bounced back in their latest game with a 65-60 victory over Magic Stormers, inspired by Tracy Namugosa’s game-high 28 points.
JT Lady Jaguars, meanwhile, head into the contest after a narrow 47-46 defeat to Magic Stormers — their second loss of the season after earlier falling to defending champions JKL Lady Dolphins.
Brenda Kayaga scored 10 points in that game, while Sarah Ageno added nine points and 15 rebounds in a losing effort as Joy Nekesa Mupalia hit the buzzer-beater for Magic Stormers.
Maimuna Nabbosa and Shakira Nanvubya both failed to score despite playing 30 and 20 minutes respectively.
Coach Sudi Ulanga will now hope his side can recover strongly after committing 24 turnovers in their previous outing.
