FUFA President Moses Hashim Magogo has dismissed speculation surrounding his future at the helm of Ugandan football, insisting that no one has asked him to step down.
Magogo made the remarks while addressing the Uganda Under-17 national team during a special dinner held at Sheraton Hotel in Kampala to celebrate the Uganda Cubs’ qualification for the FIFA U-17 World Cup later this year.
Recent political pressure surrounding Former Speaker of Parliament Anita Annet Among, who is also Magogo’s wife, has fueled public debate and unanswered questions about his future as FUFA president.
Speaking confidently at Sheraton, Magogo said: “Nobody has called me for a meeting to resign. Tebabatisatisa. I’m still here, and we have work to do.”
Magogo has in recent weeks kept a low public profile, with his absence notably felt during the Uganda Premier League title coronation in Kitende, where Vipers SC were crowned champions.

OPINION: Open letter to Hon: Moses Magogo from Dixon Okello (Certified FIFA and CAF Safety and Security)
Dear Hon. Moses Magogo,
I write to you with a lot of respect for the service you have rendered to Ugandan football over the years.
Under your tenure, Uganda Cranes returned to the Africa Cup of Nations and CHAN tournaments, and the country also participated in the FIFA U-17 World Cup. These are milestones that deserve recognition, and you should take pride in the progress achieved during your leadership.
However, it is now time to consider a leadership transition. A number of key stakeholders and government officials are no longer willing to cooperate with you. This situation risks undermining your achievements and preparations for all major upcoming tournaments and the broader development of the sport.
In football, as in politics, there are no permanent friends or enemies. What remains is the duty to put the game and the players first.
I urge all stakeholders seeking office to prioritize football development over access to government funding and the financial resources available through FIFA and CAF.
Stepping down now would allow you to concentrate fully on serving your constituents as Member of Parliament, while giving football a chance for renewed unity and cooperation ahead of critical competitions.
I trust you will consider this appeal in the interest of the sport and the country.
