Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC have confirmed participation in the 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup, which will be staged in Kigali, Rwanda later this year.
The regional club competition, which brings together top teams from East and Central Africa, is scheduled to run from July 18 to August 9.
The Venoms, fresh from winning the Uganda Premier League, will use the competition to prepare for the CAF Champions League qualifiers.

They last competed at the CECAFA back in 2018 in Tanzania where they were eliminated by Gor Mahia at the Quarterfinals.
The tournament is expected to feature clubs including APR FC and Rayon Sports of Rwanda, Gor Mahia of Kenya, Tanzania’s Young Africans and Simba SC, South Sudan’s El Merriekh SC Bentiu, as well as Sudanese giants Al Hilal and El Merriekh SC.
League champions from Somalia and Ethiopia are also expected to participate, with CECAFA planning to invite an additional guest team from outside the region.
Vipers, despite winning the league last season, did not take part in CECAFA which was won by Tanzania’s Singida Black Stars, who defeated APR FC in the final.
