Turinawe, Mutyagaba Earn ICC Level Two Tutor Certification

Cricket Uganda has received a boost in its coaching development programme after Development Manager Davis Turinawe and Northern Regional Development Officer Grace Mutyagaba completed the ICC Level Two Tutors Course in Ghana.

The three-day course, held in Accra from June 5 to 7, brought together coaching educators from across Africa and focused on improving the delivery of coach education programmes.

The qualification now allows Turinawe and Mutyagaba to train and mentor Level One coaches in Uganda, expanding the country’s capacity to develop coaches at both grassroots and elite levels.

Speaking after the course, Turinawe said the training was aimed at standardising coaching delivery across ICC member nations.

“Our completion positions us as Level Two tutors, enabling us to train and mentor Level One coaches within Uganda’s cricket development structures,” he said.

Turinawe added that the qualification will strengthen coaching programmes, particularly in schools and community cricket, where developing coaches remains critical to the growth of the game.

Cricket Uganda says the achievement is part of its wider effort to invest in coach education and build a stronger foundation for player development across the country.
