Kepler Basketball Club and head coach Mandy Juruni have parted ways by mutual agreement.
The club has appointed Rwanda basketball legend Aristide Mugabe as interim head coach until the end of the season.
The coaching change comes amid reports that Kepler is considering withdrawing from Division One basketball to focus on volleyball and potentially expand into cycling.
Reports further indicate that the institution is exploring the sale of its men’s basketball team.
However, the women’s team, which has enjoyed greater success in recent years, is not expected to be affected by the proposed changes.
Juruni set for City Oilers return

Juruni left City Oilers in 2023 for an adventure in Rwanda.
He had won nine National Basketball League titles in a row with the Oilers since 2023. His storied success also include the 2017 and 2019 Zone V championships.
The former National team, Silverbacks, head coach who also won the league with Warriors, is expected to return to the Oilers.
Since his departure, Oilers won the league in 2024 before they were dethroned last year by Nam Blazers.
Oilers finished the regular season top of the standings, a place they may relinquish if the Blazers win their remaining two games.
Juruni might not officially return on the Oilers touchline in the Playoffs but may work in the background with the team especially during the trainings.
