UPDF Tomahawks will be fighting to keep their National Basketball League status when they face Victoria Crocs in their final regular season game on Sunday at Lugogo.
UPDF, who are second from bottom, have managed six wins in 21 games this season.
They must win to avoid relegation, a result that would also push them into playoff positions.
Two teams are relegated from the NBL, with Kampala Rockets already confirmed to go down.
That leaves UPDF and JKL Dolphins battling to avoid joining them in the lower division.
A victory for UPDF would also have a major impact on the playoff race, as it would push JT Jaguars out of the top eight.
UPDF would move level on 29 points with Jaguars, but would stay ahead due to winning both head-to-head meetings this season.
Victoria Crocs, currently seventh, could face defending champions City Oilers in the playoffs if they lose.
However, a win could improve their seeding and lift them higher up the table.
UPDF head into this fixture having won two of their last five games, including a 78–71 victory over UCU Canons in their most recent outing.
Victoria Crocs, meanwhile, beat JT Jaguars 77–71 and have won four of their last five matches.
In the first round meeting, Victoria Crocs defeated UPDF 71–63.
