Allan Okello and Young Africans were on Tuesday crowned champions of the Tanzania NBC Premier League.
Young Africans sealed the title with a commanding 3-0 victory over JKT Tanzania in their final game of the season, securing a fifth consecutive league crown.
Prince Dube, Maxi Nzengeli and Clement Mzize were all on target as Yanga wrapped up the campaign in style.
The champions finished the season with 75 points, edging fierce rivals Simba SC, who ended on 73 points. Azam FC and Singida Black Stars completed the top four.
The triumph was inspired in part by Allan Okello, who joined the club midway through the season after completing a move from Vipers SC.
The Uganda Cranes attacking midfielder scored 14 league goals, finishing third in the Golden Boot race behind Singida Black Stars forward Mossi Nduwumwe, who netted 17 goals, and Azam’s Feisal Salum, who finished second with 15.
Okello was instrumental throughout the title-winning campaign, including scoring a hat-trick in the 3-0 victory over Tanzania Prisons in Yanga’s penultimate league match, a result that moved the club to the brink of retaining the title.

The 24-year-old also registered eight assists in 24 league appearances and has been strongly linked with a move away from the club. Earlier reports connected him with Turkish Super Lig side Fenerbahçe.
Following the conclusion of the season, Young Africans and Simba SC will represent Tanzania in the CAF Champions League, while Azam FC and Singida Black Stars will compete in the CAF Confederation Cup.
At the other end of the table, KMC and Mtibwa Sugar were relegated to the second tier. Tanzania Prisons and Mbeya City, who finished 13th and 14th respectively, will contest the relegation play-offs.
The winner of the tie between Tanzania Prisons and Mbeya City will retain their top-flight status, while the loser will face the winner of the Championship play-off between Mbeya Kwanza and Police Tanzania for the final place in next season’s Tanzania NBC Premier League.
