Uganda Premier League side Kitara FC has confirmed the departure of eight players as the club begins restructuring its squad ahead of the new season.
Among the notable exits is defensive midfielder Yunus Sibira, who has joined KCCA FC after one season with the Royals.
Sibira, who signed from Buhimba United Saints in September 2025, quickly became a key member of the team and finished as Kitara’s second most-used player last season behind captain Jasper Aheebwa Baguma.
The midfielder featured 34 times across all competitions, including 29 Uganda Premier League matches and five Stanbic Uganda Cup games.
He scored two goals and provided one assist while playing a role in Kitara’s Uganda Cup triumph.
Kitara have also parted ways with forward Shaban Muhammad by mutual consent, having joined esrlier this year.
Goalkeepers James Alitho and Aziz Saleh have been releasedDepartures.
Frank Kasumba, Eric Tumwine, Sadiq Ssekyembe and Amir Kakomo are the other departures.
The eight players will not be part of Kitara’s plans for the upcoming campaign as the club looks to refresh its squad, the club confirmed in a statement on Friday.
Missi Diego Ssemugera, Bonney Christopher, Jackson Ssembatya and Martin Kizza are the new arrivals as the club prepares for the new season.
