SC Villa sign attacking midfielder Tonny ‘Zuzu’ Asiku

SC Villa have continued strengthening their squad ahead of the 2026/27 Uganda Premier League season with the signing of attacking midfielder Tonny “Zuzu” Asiku on a four-year contract.

The 22-year-old joins the record Uganda Premier League champions from regional side Arua Airfield FC, where he established himself as one of the emerging young talents in Ugandan football.

Asiku is highly regarded for his creativity, technical ability and attacking flair, qualities that SC Villa believe will add depth and competition to their midfield options.

Comfortable operating in advanced midfield roles, the youngster is expected to provide a link between midfield and attack while contributing with chance creation and goals in the final third.

His arrival is part of the Jogoos’ ongoing recruitment drive as the club prepares for the new campaign under a revamped squad aimed at challenging for domestic honours.

SC Villa said the four-year contract underlines the club’s confidence in Asiku’s long-term potential, with the youngster expected to continue his development while competing for a place in the first team.

Asiku becomes the latest arrival at Villa Park following the recent signings of striker Isaac Gumperom and midfielder Steven Mugisha as the club intensifies preparations for the 2026/27 season.
