Uganda’s team returns to action on Day Three of the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, with athletes competing in five disciplines as the hunt for medals continues on Sunday.
The Gazelles will complete their group-stage campaign with two fixtures against Fiji and Australia.
Jamila Nansikombi, Jane Asinde, Perus Nyamwenge and Melissa Akullu inspired Uganda to three consecutive victories over the Cayman Islands, Jamaica and Kenya on Friday, putting the team in a strong position heading into the final group matches.
The She Cranes, who opened their campaign with a 59-50 win over Wales on Saturday, will face Trinidad and Tobago in their second group game.
Uganda, coached by Rashid Mubiru, are ranked sixth in the world, while Trinidad and Tobago sit 12th.
In boxing, Bombers captain Nuhu Batte takes on India’s Yadav Pratap in the men’s welterweight (65kg) Round of 16.
Batte advanced after defeating Nigeria’s Abdulwahab Abdulramon by unanimous decision in the Round of 32 on Friday. Victory over Pratap would book him a place in the quarterfinals.
In weightlifting, Davis Niyoyita will compete in the men’s 60kg category.
Swimming will also feature four Ugandan athletes in the heats. Gloria Muzito and Tara Naluwoza will race in the women’s 100m freestyle, while Jordan Samula and Tendo Mukalazi will compete in the men’s 50m breaststroke.
