JT Lady Jaguars put the National Basketball League title celebrations on hold after beating UCU Lady Canons 72-52 in Game Four of the finals on Friday at Lugogo.
UCU Lady Canons were on the verge of being crowned champions after winning the opening three games to take a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven series. They needed just one more victory to seal the title.
The Canons made a strong start, taking a 13-6 lead after the opening quarter, but the Jaguars responded strongly to take a 28-25 advantage into halftime.
JT maintained their momentum in the third quarter, winning it 22-14, before pulling further away in the final period as UCU struggled to match their intensity.
Sandra Ayikoru and Brenda Kayaga led the Jaguars with 18 points apiece, while Shakira Nanvubya added 13 points in the victory.
Coach Sudi Ulanga will be pleased with the response from his team, but the Jaguars must produce another strong performance in Game Five, with no room for error if they are to extend the series further.
For UCU, Shilla Lamunu and Sylvia Nantongo scored 13 and 11 points respectively, while Matrina Anyango finished with six points and 12 rebounds in the defeat.
