•Kataka Vs SC Villa – Bukedea
•Kitara Vs Kigezi Homeboyz – Hoima
•Maroons Vs Lugazi – Wankulukuku
•Ntugasaze Vs Mbarara City – Kamwokya
Kitara FC will be aiming for their first home victory of the season when they host newly promoted Kigezi Homeboys at Hoima City Stadium on Wednesday.
The Royals head into the Uganda Premier League encounter having drawn their last two games away from home.
They played out a 1-1 draw with SC Villa at Wankulukuku before sharing the same scoreline with Express FC at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.
Because of their CAF Confederation Cup engagements, Kitara had their match against Mbarara City postponed.
The fixture will be the first top-flight meeting between the two sides, with Kitara hoping to maintain their unbeaten record at Hoima City Stadium.
Coach George Lutalo believes Wednesday’s match is crucial as Kitara look to climb from the bottom half of the table.
“We are looking forward to getting positive results against Kigezi. We are among the bottom teams on the table and this game is one that we want to win and remain in the competition,” Lutalo said.
Kigezi Homeboyz, meanwhile, are still searching for their first victory since earning promotion to the top flight.
They have collected just one point from their opening games, following defeats to Lugazi FC and SC Villa, and have scored only once.
Kitara could also welcome back Kabon Living and Jimmy Kalema, who missed the draw with Express.
Patrick Kaddu and Isaac Amutuhaire, who both picked up injuries in that game, are also being monitored, but Lutalo says he has a healthy squad available for selection.
“We have prepared ourselves well and everyone that has been training is ready to give their best once selected,” he added.
Victory would provide Kitara with a confidence boost ahead of their trip to Bukedea Sports Complex three days later.
The Royals will then return to Hoima City Stadium for a major CAF Confederation Cup tie against Egyptian giants Al Ahly, with a place in the group stage at stake.
